Brian Halloran, MPT

A northern California native, Brian grew up in the Bay Area, and moved to Sacramento to attend C.S.U.S. After receiving a B.S. in Physical Education (pre-physical therapy concentration), he traveled to southern California and earned a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Chapman University with concentrations in orthopedics and geriatric rehabilitation.
​
Brian has practiced orthopedic physical therapy in Auburn for most of his career. He has worked with athletes of all levels from a variety of sports to include baseball throwers, dancers and football players. When not spending time with his wife Tracy and children Connor and Brenna, Brian can often be found riding his motorcycles through the back roads and trails of the Sierra foothills.

Laura Snow, M.S.P.T.

​​Laura received her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Human Nutrition from CSU, Chico. During her undergraduate years, she played NCAA basketball and was a member of the Wildcats 1987 championship team.

Laura completed her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the University of the Pacific in 1992, where she received an academic scholarship from the Veteran’s Administration and thus accepted a position at the VAMC in Salem, Virginia. Laura moved to Auburn in 1995 and began working in an outpatient clinic where she would remain prior to opening American River Rehabilitation in August of 2003.

Laura has completed advanced education to include the Australian Manual Therapy Course June-November, 1996 and the Chris Power’s Advanced Functional Biomechanics of the Lower Quarter July- December 2012.

Laura enjoys outdoor recreation to include running, biking and backpacking on the trails of the Sierra Nevada, as well as the American River Canyon. She has completed numerous ultramarathons including the prestigious Western States 100-mile Endurance Run across the Sierra from Squaw Valley to Auburn, and hiked to the summit of Mount Shasta, Mount Whitney and Africa's highest peak, 19,341 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro.

Laurie Meadows, OTR,CHT

A graduate of Loma Linda University in Occupational Therapy, Laurie worked in a variety of settings, eventually finding her niche in rehabilitation of the hand. She began working at the Downey Community Hand Rehabilitation Center were she became chief therapist. Her love for the mountains drew her to Auburn in 1983 where she worked at Auburn Faith Community Hospital where she helped create the acute rehabilitation unit.
​
In 1990 Laurie opened Sierra Therapy and Hand Rehabilitation (STAR Therapy) in Auburn with Joanne Walder, PT, and became one of the first to earn a Certification in Hand Therapy. STHR was sold to NovaCare in 1997 and Laurie continued to treat hand therapy patients there until she joined American River Rehabilitation in November of 2004. Laurie loves to be outdoors, run in the canyon with her dogs, and sing in the Placer Pops Chorale.

Alex Schneider, DPT

Alex, a Northern California native, attended and graduated from high school at Forest Lake Christian and then moved to Phoenix, AZ where he attended Grand Canyon University and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology (with emphasis of pre-physical therapy). From there he proceeded to attend physical therapy school at Northern Arizona University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. 

Alex has a passion for treating patients in the outpatient setting, treating diverse musculoskeletal diagnoses including sports related injuries, pre- and post- operative surgeries, chronic pain, and vestibular injuries. 

​When not working with patients, Alex loves to spend time with his family and hanging out with friends playing basketball or pickle ball. He is also  a proud Sacramento Kings and Nebraska Huskers faithful fan. Most of all he loves exploring and traveling with his wife Gabby.

​Tim Schneider, DPT

​Tim was born and raised in Northern California – he grew up an Auburn local and graduated from Forest Lake Christian High School. Tim then attended Grand Canyon University where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology (with emphasis of pre-physical therapy). From there, he went on to attend physical therapy school at Loma Linda University, culminating his education with a doctoral degree in physical therapy. 
 
Tim is passionate about helping people recover and during his time in his clinical rotations at PT school, he found his calling to work in the outpatient setting. His work led him back home to Northern California, where he gained experience treating diverse musculoskeletal diagnoses that include sports related injuries, overuse injuries, pre- and post- operative surgeries, chronic pain, and vestibular injuries. 
 
Outside of work, Tim loves spending time with his family and friends, hiking, camping, and playing basketball. Tim enjoys travelling with his wife, Megan, exploring new places and trying different restaurants. He is also a devout Sacramento Kings and Nebraska Huskers fan and attends games as often as he can.

Jeff Snow, MSPT

Jeff completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology from CSU, Chico.  He then received his Master of Science degree from the University of the Pacific in 1991. He has worked in acute rehab settings as well as outpatient orthopedic clinics during 30 years in practice. 

Jeff implements individualized treatment plans to maximize patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.  He has continued to enhance his professional education in areas of orthopedics to include advanced coursework in the Mulligan Technique, as well as completion of the Australian Manual Therapy Course.

Jeff enjoys outdoor activities to include sailing in the Bay Area, mountain biking and trail running in the American River Canyon and cross country skiing in the Sierra Nevada.​

Anna Tortosa, MPT

Anna grew up in a home where medicine was common language as her Father is an Orthopedic surgeon and her mother is an Internal Medicine MD. Anna received her Bachelor's degree in Genetics from UC Davis and a Master's in Physical Therapy from CSU, Sacramento in 2009.

Anna enjoys taking advanced continuing education courses and is always trying to learn new manual therapy techniques to help her patients. Anna just completed an Orthopedic multiple weekend series through USC focusing on the neck and shoulder.

Anna has practiced Orthopedic Physical therapy in northern CA for 8 years. She has worked with a variety of different patients including post surgical, orthopedic injuries, high school athletes, geriatrics, patients suffering from neurological conditions such as stroke and M.S. , and vertigo. Anna has a special passion for pediatrics and has extra training in pediatric conditions. Anna uses manual therapy and exercise prescription to help every patient reach their full potential.

Anna has always enjoyed sports and being active. Anna played competitive soccer in high school and enjoyed competitive rock climbing in college while she worked at a local rock climbing gym. Anna currently loves trail running, skiing, hiking, and yoga and is trying to share all of these adventures with her daughter.
